Nolan Janke, R. Ac
I grew up in a small Alberta town where my foray into martial arts led me to a passion for fitness, health, and wellness. This would later lead me to pursue traditional Chinese medicine.
I completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Regina, majoring in Fitness and Lifestyle. I then completed my Diploma of Acupuncture program and graduated from the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2019.
I take a holistic approach to treating patients by combining acupuncture with traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis; modalities and lifestyle recommendations to restore balance to the body, alleviate pain, and improve functionality.
I offer acupuncture, electro acupuncture, cupping, gua-sha scraping, tui na acupressure, ear reflexology, qi gong, reiki, and Traditional Chinese medicine dietary recommendations within my treatment plans.
I can treat a variety of issues including pain, digestive problems, insomnia, stress, anxiety, and many others!
When I’m not in the clinic I like to experience the natural beauty of the Okanagan outdoors, practice martial arts and hit the gym.

Murray Wood, Certified Pedorthist
I am a Pedorthist and former owner and operator of Thomas Wood Pedorthic Clinic in Orillia, Ontario. In recent years, I decided to move out West and join Marie Catherine at The Sole Mate and eventually join our team at Creekside. I bring with me over 45 years of experience and expertise in the foot and footwear industry. I began my career in the family specialty orthopedic footwear business, where I developed a strong foundation of knowledge of feet and footwear. This, coupled with my endless supply of energy and passion for pedorthic work, has propelled me into some impressive roles in the pedorthic world. I have helped to create the Canadian Prescription Footwear Association and was instrumental in developing the educational and ethical standards of today as the first president of the Pedorthic Association of Canada.
My deep appreciation for health and understanding of athleticism and biomechanics has aided me in becoming a strong referral choice for family physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and registered massage therapists here in the Vernon area. My background in footwear and design keeps me strong in my skills at shoe modifications, and along with that I do all my own custom orthotics and footbeds on site here at Creekside. Throughout this past number of years, I have been working hard at understanding more about the foot and looking beyond the orthotic for the catch-all for foot health.
Can we not look at the function and help by integrating mobility, stretching, and strengthening into the daily routine of good foot health? After all, our feet are our foundation, and we should be doing so much to improve strength, balance, and propulsion to them. This functional approach to foot heath is amazing, and I am excited to share with you these sound methods to help you on your path to healthy, strong feet.
When you don’t find me here at the clinic, you just might see me cycling or paddling in my summer seasonal months; in the winter months, you’ll likely find me teaching Nordic skiing or just sliding through the trails at Sovereign and Silver Star.
I bring enthusiasm and knowledge to my practice each day, and I am so proud to be a member of the collaborative Creekside Team.

Trevor McArthur, Chiropractor
I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2017 and have been helping patients find solutions to their musculoskeletal pain ever since. Before my graduation, I had the opportunity to do a doctoral clerkship in the pain management unit of the Central Iowa Veterans Affairs Hospital. Over the years, I have taken numerous continuing education courses to further expand my knowledge and am one of the few chiropractors certified in the McKenzie Method of Diagnosis and Therapy.
My clinical approach involves a comprehensive history and assessment to provide patients with a thorough understanding of their condition and available treatment options. Ensuring that my patients feel heard, and not rushed during their visits is of utmost importance to me. Depending on each patient’s individual needs, I utilize various treatments such as joint mobilization and manipulation (adjustments), exercise therapy and rehabilitation, soft-tissue treatments, and patient education.
I have experience treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, but I have a particular interest in helping those with low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, disc herniations/bulges, spinal stenosis, and sports injuries.
Outside of the clinic, you might find me running on the rail trail training for my next marathon, hiking in Kal Park, biking on one of our beautiful trails, or enjoying any of the other outdoor activities that Vernon has to offer.

Darcie Weglo Chiropractor
I was lucky enough to be born and raised in Vernon, BC and am thrilled to be serving my community through my chosen profession of Chiropractic.
My academic career consists of a Bachelor’s Degree from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and then my doctorate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating in 2011 with academic honors.
I have been afforded great opportunities to share my education outside of the clinic by a previous teaching position at the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy (OVCMT), as well as teaching dancers with our Pedorthist Murray Wood about foot health, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention in the School District 22 Dance Academy Program.
During my chiropractic education and career, I have been fortunate to work with experts in many areas of chiropractic, including sports chiropractic, radiology, foot and gait specialists, geriatrics, female care, and general family practice; this in addition to my highly diverse team at Creekside! I have pursued continuing education in many areas, but particularly soft tissue therapy, functional rehabilitation, and active therapy. These areas of focus lend themselves well to individualized care, where the goal is to equip the patient with the tools necessary to help themselves prevent injury and optimize activities.
I see patients of all ages, but I have a particular interest in working with seniors in maintaining athleticism through the ages; athletes in the areas of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement; as well as pregnancy and pediatrics.
Additional training and certifications held by Dr. Weglo include:
Activator®
Graston Technique®
ART®
Prague School to Athletic Development (Spine and Extremities- bridging the gap of rehabilitation to performance)
Functional Anatomical Palpation Seminars (FAP)
Concussion- basic management

I have been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2011, after completing my training here in Vernon. Being born and raised in this beautiful community, I feel fortunate to now raise my own children, Fenna and Teddy, alongside my husband Chris, right here in our hometown. We love everything Vernon has to offer, from skiing at Silver Star in the winter to swimming in the lakes during the summer.
At Creekside, I highly value the variety of practitioners and treatments available. I regularly seek a team approach to ensure the best client-centered care. My goal is to live a whole and balanced life, and I aim to reflect this in my practice, tailoring my approach to each individual’s unique needs.
Over the years, I’ve furthered my training through various soft tissue courses and completed the full Dr. Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage. I particularly enjoy educating and supporting patients with lymphedema, with the aim of improving their quality of life.
In our sessions, you can expect moderate pressure, with a focus on specific and targeted work. I can easily adjust techniques to be lighter or deeper, depending on your preferences and needs. My intention is to create a comfortable environment, fostering open communication so we can work together toward achieving your wellness goals.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your path to better health!

Tanya Cates, RMT
The Okanagan Valley has been my home since I was born. I continually enjoys its great beauty and nature through gardening, cooking with fresh and local food, and outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and camping with my husband and two young daughters.
After graduating high school, I focused my career in culinary arts, where I was awarded a Red Seal certification as a professional chef at Okanagan College in 2010. However, the typical fast pace of that business became juxtaposed to my interest in helping people. With this experience and insight, I refocused my career on something more complimentary – the healing arts. In 2012 therefore, I completed my certification in holistic nutrition, through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, which later expanded to include massage therapy. I graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in December 2016, and completed my Board certification in March, 2017.
My patients receive a tailored therapeutic approach, where a combination of lighter techniques such as myofacial release combined with trigger point therapy may be used. My balanced methodology helps my patients achieve wellness from a range of issues including headaches, migraines, chronic pain, sports injuries, and postural dysfunctions.

I am from Quesnel BC, where I spent a lot of time exploring outdoors and years of playing elite competitive volleyball. I moved to Vernon in 2015 to study Massage Therapy, and graduated from the program in December 2016.
I have a thorough treatment style and prefer to work slowly and specifically into the affected area. My massage treatments are combined with Myofascial Release to help give the affected areas a longer lasting result.
Treatment areas I enjoy working on as an RMT, include TMJ, headaches, post surgical scarring, and back pain.
Kirsten is not available to book at this time.

Michaela Rempel, RMT
I originally moved to Vernon from Prince George, in 2014, to attend Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. In 2016, I finished my diploma with both practical and academic achievement awards. Shortly after graduating, I joined the Creekside team and found the perfect fit; a fellowship of like-minded professionals striving towards the same goal. I have embraced the Okanagan as home and I am grateful to be able to raise my son and daughter here, in this abundant valley.
As an RMT, my primary focus is treatment of chronic pain and dysfunction with a slow and specific approach. Treatments tend to be moderate-deep in pressure with a myofascial focus. My goal is to work with you to decrease pain and restore function in areas of chronic pain or longstanding injury.
Some of my focus areas are pelvic dysfunction with a specific interest in issues of the female pelvis, scar tissue mobilization; particularly post caesarean, as well as rotator cuff injuries, low back & neck pain, and headaches.
I am passionate about continuing to understand and support the body in its extraordinary process of healing. I have pursued education in visceral manipulation; primarily of the uterus and bladder, nerve impingements, and decompression. I most recently finished a master class on the cervical spine and jaw.

Alison Edmonds, RMT
I have been practicing as an RMT since graduating from massage school in Vancouver in 2012. I grew up in Ontario, received my bachelor degree in Physical Education and Health from the University of Toronto, moved to BC in 2009, and I haven’t looked back. I moved to Vernon in the summer of 2016 with my young family so we could play in the lakes and the explore the mountains.
My passion for massage lies both in women’s health and pediatrics. I practice both of these at Creekside as well as supervise students at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy during the practical component of these specific subsets of massage in their education. I have taken courses in pre and post natal massage and breast massage. Pre and post natal (no matter how far past child birth you are) brings all new stresses to the body, and I like to focus on these areas by using a therapeutic approach to a relaxation massage to both target specific areas of pain as well as bring an overall feeling of well being. Incorporating both the abdomen and breasts into a massage can at first seem like unexpected areas of the body to work on; however, work done here can help with back pain, help with better breathing, improve c-section scarring or other scarring, and can help bring a full feeling of connection to the body.
I have also taken post graduate courses in pediatrics to work with soft tissue and injury related pain, as well as anxiety and other mental health related pain. I have also taken courses in working with children with autism and have been an instructor in infant massage. It can truly be amazing how much tension children can build up within their bodies that massage can help release.
As part of every massage, I like to give tips and techniques that can be used at home, by caregivers or by children themselves, to help ease this tension on a daily basis.
I love to chat about what I do or anything else body related, so please stop me while I’m flying around Creekside if you have any questions or are interested in learning more about what I do.
